Hilda Marquez, 82, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, in Dallas, Texas.

Hilda was born on September 28, 1941, to David and Asencion (Nava de) Ponce.

Hilda married Jesus Jose Marquez on December 8. 1961 and they made their home in New Mexico before she moved to Ennis in 2022.

Hilda loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing and making crafts.

Hilda is survived by five sons; Jesus Jose Marquez, Abel Marquez, Luis Carlos Marquez, Jonas Marquez and Lalo Marquez; daughter, Hilda Marquez; nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers: Eduardo Ponce and Hernando Ponce along with a host of extended family and friends.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Saul Marquez, one daughter, Rita Marquez Ramirez and eight siblings.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father Agustin Fuertes as celebrant.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
