Ida May (Spencer) Bonner, 88, of Palmer, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was born to W.T. (Thea) and May Spencer on September 10, 1934, in Simpsonville community near Gilmer, Texas. Ida graduated from Union Hill High School in 1953. She attended East Texas State University, Commerce where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees.

She met her husband Bobby Jack at ETSU. They were married May 29, 1956. While Bobby Jack finished his education she worked for First Baptist Church, Sulfur Springs, Texas. She taught in Texas Public Schools for thirty-four years, the last twenty-five as a 4 ^th grade teacher in Palmer ISD.

She enjoyed reading, quilting and preparing Sunday lunches for her family as long as her health permitted.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Urban Spencer.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Jack of sixty-six years, son, Robert and wife, Jacque of Palmer, Russell and wife, Shaila of Duncanville; five grandchildren: John Follis, Charlotte Davis and husband, Jason, Jason Bonner, Rishi Bonner, Manoj Sewal and wife, Kristen; six great grandchildren: and twin sister, Nina Smith of Malvern, Arkansas.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Palmer where she served as treasurer for many years.

Funeral services will be held in the First Christian of Palmer on Saturday, November 26, at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
