Imogene Honza, 91, passed away at her home in Ennis on Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Imogene was born August 25, 1930 in Avalon, Texas to Emmet and Lola (Dixon) Southard. She attended schools in Avalon and graduated in 1950. On April 25, 1953 Imogene married Joe Albert Honza and they lived all their married life in Ennis.

Imogene worked for Ennis Business Forms for 58.5 years in Customer Service.  She was a faithful member of the Anthony Drive Baptist Church in Ennis.  She loved to work in her yard and to crack pecans during pecan season.  Imogene was a big fan of Baylor Bears Basketball and Dallas Cowboys Football.

She is survived by one son, David Honza and wife, Kathy; one daughter, Paula Gerich; three grandchildren: Kerry, Brandon and fiancé Jessica Martinez, and Jordan; four great-grandchildren: Julian, Bailey, Joseph and Autumn; special friend, Lilly Walker; and her dog, Peanut.

Imogene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Albert Honza; six brothers and seven sisters.

The family will receive friends at J. E. Keever Mortuary, 408 N. Dallas Street, Ennis on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the same location, with Rev. Matt Walker, Pastor of Anthony Drive Baptist Church, Ennis, officiating.  Interment will be in the Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Texas under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
