Jack Charles Green, 95, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in
Waxahachie, Texas.
Jack was born on January 16, 1927 to Howard H. and Clara E. (Carroll) Green in Bardwell, Texas. He grew up in Bardwell and graduated from Bardwell High School in 1944. On July 1, 1948, Jack married Joyce Sheppard. They were married for 59 years until her death in February of 2008. On June 20, 2010, he married Jo Ann (Munn) Moore. Jack lived in Dallas, then Lancaster for 40 years. Since 2001 he lived in
Italy. Jack served his country proudly in the United States Naval Air Force for 3 1/2 years and 4 years in the Navy Reserve.
Jack was the owner of Green and Green (that manufactured Dilly Boat trailers) from 1950-1978. He was the founder and builder of the Lancaster Airport, which he donated to the city in 1978. He owned J-Rod Trailers in Red Oak from 1979-1998 and owned JG Trailers from 2000-2008. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster and First Baptist Church of Bardwell. Jack's family was the joy of his life. He spent
countless hours in the pool, on the beach, and out on the lake with his family and friends. His favorite pastimes were flying his airplanes, traveling in the motorhome, and spending weekends on the houseboat, while enjoying time skiing, boating, and playing on the many fun water toys he always had for everyone to enjoy. When life didn't allow for those activities anymore, he still loved to shoot his guns, tinker in his shop, and ride
the 4 wheeler around the land.
Jack leaves behind his loving family including his wife, Jo Ann Green; son, Rodney Green and wife, Christine; daughter, Suzanne Baty; step-daughters: Lindy Fincher and Julie Luksa and husband, Wayne; Seven grandchildren: Heather Skipper-Thetford and husband, Robert; Amber Koehler and husband, Jim; Derek Wilson and wife, Sharman; Ryan Green and wife, Kelsey; Reese Green; Carli Middleton and husband, Aaron;
Payton Spradling and husband, Tristen; Jeffrey Fincher; Great-grandchildren: Kyler, Koby, Kaden, Keagen and Khloe Skipper, Karsen and Kollin Koehler, Eli and Jack Charles Wilson, Kenley Green, Blayke-Lee and Waylon Spradling, and Kash Middleton; brother, Ed Green and wife, Jane; sister, Dorothy Lee and a host of extended family and friends.
Jack is preceded by his parents, his wife, Joyce Green; two brothers: Rayburn and Randall; five sisters: Willie, Little Mae, Iva, Mildred and Aleene.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Eddie Ballard officiating. Internment will follow in Elm Branch Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
