Son – Joel Henning and his wife Jeanette

Daughter – Jina Armstrong and her husband Andy

Grandchildren – Stormi Beets, Jordon Henning, Bobbi Henning, Rachel Tawater, Brad Cepak, Haley Cummings, Hannah Jones, Annie Caussey, Meg Hrapkiewicz, Wade Armstrong and Claire Simmons

Great Grandchildren:  24, and still counting…

Jack grew up in Francisco Indiana and graduated from Francisco High School.  After high school, Jack enrolled in the US Navy.  He served during the Korean conflict.  After his service in the navy, he went to work in the west Texas oil fields.  While working there he met his wife to be, Joyce.  Shortly after they married, they moved to Mesquite Texas in the late 1950's.  There Jack obtained from the IBEW Local Apprenticeship Master Electrician License in 1959.

Jack and Joyce and the 4 small children then moved to Ennis Texas in 1967.  Once in Ennis, Jack started and ran several successful businesses for many years including:  H & H Electric, Tex Pack Express, Jack's Shack Restaurant, and BJ's Restaurant.

To say that Jack lived a colorful life would be an understatement.  He enjoyed life to the fullest… and lived it that way. The following is just a partial list of the things he did and the things he enjoyed doing:

·       He rode Harley Davidson Motorcycles his entire life, even up into his late 80's

·       He made the famous bike trip to Sturgis South Dakota many, many times

·       He killed a bear

·       He had a tiger for a pet (Toby)

·       He hunted Elk in Canada

·       He loved to gamble

·       He made 45 trips to the casinos in Las Vegas…. In one year!

·       He sponsored motocross teams and softball teams

·       He collected all sorts of antiques, guns, and knives

·       He served as president of the Ennis Polka Festival

·       He played poker with Willie Nelson!

·       He loved to shoot pool, he worked hard and lived hard

·       He always thought he was the best dancer on the dance floor!

·       He was known by many names including: Jack, Jackie Don, Sparky, Hapnin Jack, and Pepa

·       He was never afraid to live life… his way

·       He gave us all the courage to step out and take a chance on life

·       He was a friend to many, who will be missed by all who knew him

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at The American Legion in Ennis, Texas.
