Jaime Cristóbol Cruz, 68, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024, in his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 7, 1956, to Cruz R. Cruz and Maria P. Cruz in Raymondville, Texas, and moved to Ennis on Labor Day weekend in 1960. Jaime grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1974. He dedicated 40 years of his life to Leggett and Platt as a machine operator, retiring in March 2021.

Outside of work, Jaime found joy in weekend cookouts, the outdoors, and cherished moments with his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan Cruz, and Carlota M. Cruz and Juan C. Davila and Maria Chavez Davila, his parents, Cruz R. Cruz and Maria P. Cruz, and his younger brother, Andres E. Cruz. Jaime leaves behind a loving legacy through his three children: Andres Cruz, Alejandro Cruz, and Ashley Cruz, as well as his four brothers: Juan R. Cruz and his wife, Josie Cruz, Carlos G. Cruz, Cruz O. Cruz, Danny L. Cruz, and his wife, Betty Cruz.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, in the J.E. Keever Chapel.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, with Father John as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Orlando Guajardo, Rolando Guajardo, Christopher Cruz, Cruz O. Cruz, Phillip Cruz, and Eric Cruz. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Molina and Michael Ponce. Christian burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
