Jake DeWitt Clifton, Jr.:   May 14, 1931 - March 4, 2021

Parents:  Jake DeWitt Clifton, Sr. and Mittice Matlock

Born:  Near Cushing, Nacogdoches County, Texas

Jake is survived in legacy by his wife Evelyn Smith Clifton married August 15, 1953 in Nacogdoches County, Texas; his daughter, Belinda Clifton Richardson; his granddaughter, Chelsea Brooke Richardson and his great grandchildren Callie Brooke Richardson and Kasen DeWitt Jurcik; his brother, Ernest Preston Clifton and wife Leona and family; sisters in law Marilyn and Wanda and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.  He is preceded in death by his siblings Talmadge Clifton, Vera Sanders and Juanita Matlock.

Jake volunteered December 1950 and served proudly in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He was recognized, while working for Red Ball Motor Freight, for driving over a million miles with no accidents.  His CB handle, "Wild Card", was a testament of his fun personality.

Jake's largest self made accomplishment was his business of 20 years, JEB Motor Home Rental for TV and Movie Productions.  It was this business that brought him opportunities to do some acting and print work.  This was a highlight of his life.

Those knowing Jake will remember his jokes, comforting ways, BIG hugs, passionate personality and making people feel better through laughter.  A dying breed, putting family first, he is remembered mostly for how much he loved his family!  The void of his BIG personality will be felt by family and friends and personal memories will be cherished a lifetime.  ONE LIFE TOUCHING THE HEARTS OF SO MANY!

The Memorial will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis. The service will be live-streamed by the family. Due to circumstances beyond our control live streaming was not possible.  The service is being recorded.
