James "Buddy" Davis, Sr., left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

He was born on March 10, 1942 in Waxahachie, Texas to Mildred Allene Davis and husband, James Dillard Davis.  The family later moved to Ennis, Texas and was raised by his mother and step-father Tommie L. Cooper.

As a young boy he attended Ennis Public Schools and graduated in 1961.  He then attended Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.

On June 1, 1963 he married his wife and love of 56 years Nancy Carol Threadgill making their home in Ennis, Texas.

Buddy was a journeyman Butcher for Safeway Stores for over 24 years.  After leaving the grocery business he worked for Ellis County Waste Management in Sales.  In the mid 90's, he decided to semi retire and chose to operate a Buy, Sale and trade business from his home in Frost.

Buddy is preceded in death by his mother, father and step-father, his beloved wife of 56 years, Nancy and sister-in-law, Gloria Davis.

He is survived by one son, James R. Davis, Jr. and wife, Shelly, and their daughters: Katie, Kylie and Alisgem.  He also leaves behind a daughter, Leah Beth Davis and children; Seth Oates, Nicholas, daughter, Kati Isbell and husband, Robert and daughter, MacKenzie husband and sons.

In addition his is survived by brothers: Johnny M. Davis of Ennis, Billie Joe Davis of Houston; sisters: Saberina Turner and husband, Michael, Teresa Gerich and husband, Edward and Deana Erickson and husband, Alfred and one brother-in-law, Tim Threadgill and wife of Italy, Texas.  Also included are several nieces and nephews.

Bubby and Nancy read their Bibles daily attending church regularly and loved the Lord above all else.  God was firs in their lives.  They also loved their children and grandchildren.

Buddy's church family always held a strong presence in his life.  He loved to worship God with them.  We know that God and his angels opened the gates of Heaven for Buddy and we will see him in Heaven.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Damascus Road Fellowship Church.
