James Ellis Wilson, 85, passed away in Sugarland, Texas on Monday, August 2, 2021.

James was born in Ferris, Texas on November 16, 1935, to James Eldon and Vera Jewell (Arnold) Wilson.  He grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1954.  On July 21, 1956, he married his sweetheart Mildred Heard and they lived in several towns across Texas including Lancaster, Arlington, and Seagoville.  James served his county proudly in the United States Army.

James worked as a machinist for Electra Com, LTV and TI.  He enjoyed dominoes, fishing, puzzles, grandkids and great grandkids.

James is survived by sons: Victor "Butch" Wilson and wife, Jeanne and Dennis Wilson and wife, Connie; four grandchildren: five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joann Jones and Wanda Massey along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mildred.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Palmer.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
