Dan Eubanks passed away on August 24 in Ennis, Texas at the age of 89. He was born in Thornton, Texas on March 8, 1937, to L.H. and Iva Lee Eubanks. Dan grew up in Mexia, Texas and graduated from Mexia High School in 1955. He then attended Navarro Jr. College and Draughn’s Business College.

In 1957 he went to work for Texas Power & Light Company in Ennis. Continuing to work for T.P.&L. he transferred to Lancaster, Garland, Gainesville, Sherman and Killeen. He retired from Texas Utilities Electric (formally T.P.&L) after 40 years of service as operations manager of Killeen district.

Dan joined the U.S. Air Force and served six years in the Air National Guard. He did his training at Chanute Air Force base in Chanute, Illinois.

On November 25, 1960, Dan and Joy Clouse were married at First Christian Church in Ennis. They celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary. They have a son, Brad of Pensacola, Florida.

Dan is a member of First Christin Church, where he served as an elder. For many years he has been a director of Smith Cemetery. As a member of the Rotary Club in Killeen, he became a Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed being a member of Ellis County Master Gardners, where he worked on many civic projects beautifying Ellis County.

Dan is survived by his wife, Joy, and son Brad. Several nieces and nephews also survived as well as two sisters-in-law, Marsha Eubanks and Elaine Eubanks. He is predeceased by his parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Sugg Campbell, a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Pat Eubanks Page and a brother Glynn Eubanks.

A graveside service will be held at Smith Cemetery on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. Keever Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
