James Arlon Woodside, "Woody", transitioned to his eternal home on Thursday, September 28, 2023. He was 72 years of age, born November 17, 1950. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 49 years, Mary; his beloved daughter Courtney Witcher and her husband Chance Witcher, Courtney's son and Woody and Mary's treasured grandson, Callum Murphy, Callum's father, Jason Murphy, sister Tammy Price and husband Wayne Price, sister Linda Miller, cousin Vickie York, and many nieces and nephews.

Woody was preceded in death by: grandfather Elmer Gibson Jones, grandmother Dora Pearl Jones, and mother Jackie Conine.

Woody was a devoted family man.  He was loyal, loving, and generous.  He was gifted with the incredible ability to elicit laughter from those around him.  Woody enjoyed spending time on family trips, fishing, hunting, and visiting with friends and family.  He had a quick wit, a love of trivia, and a sharp mind for mathematics.  His sense of fun was legendary and memories of his antics will bring smiles to those who knew him best for years to come.

Throughout his life, Woody was loved and highly regarded by his family and the many friends he made along the way. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Brian Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Elm Branch Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
