Jane Hyer Carter peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Jane was born in Dallas, Texas on April 14, 1931 to parents Boykin Hyer and Katherine McDuffie Hyer. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1949 and went on to earn her Master's Degree from Texas Tech University. Jane worked as a teacher for the Dallas Independent School District for 25 years. In her free time, Jane loved being the captain of her house boat and spending time at the casinos. She also was a big fan of the Dallas Mavericks. Jane is the last surviving member of her family, preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held for Jane Carter on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 2 pm in Myrtle Cemetery.
