Janet Marion Huff, 68, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, July 3rd,
2023 in Ennis, Texas. Janet was born at Fort Sill Hospital in Oklahoma to Martha Kathryn and
Johnnie Aubrey Huff on November 26th, 1954. She would be the youngest of their family, born
seven years after her Bubba, John Stephen. Their mother Martha made sure her family was
raised with God's love. After Johnnie left the army, the family moved back to Ennis, Texas. Janet
attended public school in Ennis.
She was a good student, made good grades and was in the honor society in high school.
After graduating from Ennis High School, she went to college and became interested in
teaching. Soon she graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. She came
back to Ennis and began teaching at the middle school, where she taught history and English.
Moving to Ennis High School, she taught 9th grade English for many years. For some time she
also enjoyed being a cheerleading sponsor.
She loved learning and the opportunity to teach, and loved the students that came into
her life each year. She had many friends in the community also, many of whom were connected
through the field of education. She enjoyed social gatherings such as birthday celebrations,
Bunco, and playing dominoes. She loved all animals, especially cats. Among those most
adored furballs included Muffett and Tucker.
Janet will indeed be missed by all those whose lives she touched, and memories of her
will be greatly cherished. She is survived by her brother Steve Huff; nephew David Huff and his
wife Julie, grandnephew Max and grandniece Aubrey; nephew Tim Huff and his wife Patty, and
grandnieces Danielle, Evie and Iris.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Collard, Jerry Collard, Wallace Emmert, Terry Heil, Jackie Poff and Patrick Buchanan.
