Jeannie Fulton, 83, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Jeannie was born in Floresville, Texas on June 30, 1938, to William Basil and Annie Bell (Riley) Whitehead.  Jeannie grew up in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School. Jeannie married Johnny Hester, Jr. in 1956 and he passed away in 1984. Jeannie was married to Joe Fulton in 1986, and they made their home in Ennis.

Jeannie worked for Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis where she served as a secretary for over twenty years.  Jeannie was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church of Ennis and the Rebekah Lodge #104.  Jeannie enjoyed traveling and bird watching.  She was an animal lover, especially cats. She was known in her neighborhood as the "cat woman". Jeannie would take care of all the feral cats.  She was very conscientious about taking care of them and having them spayed and neutered.

Jeannie is survived by sons: Tim Hester and wife, Lydia, and Tom Hester and wife, Jinny; daughter, Tammie Hester Bennett and husband, Danny; six grandchildren: two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; stepson, Joe D. Fulton and wife, Liza; stepdaughter, Terry Jo Parker and a host of extended family and friends.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Bell Whitehead, brother, Clarence Whitehead and husbands: Johnnie Hester, Jr. and Joe Fulton.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Mike Dunham officiating.  Interment will follow in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas at 1 p.m. under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
