Jerry was born November 7, 1944, Austin, Texas, to Wesley Marvin and Lynette (Knape) Becker in the old Austin Seton Hospital on 26th St. (later demolished) He passed away September 29, 2024, at the age of 79 while living in assisted living in Kennedale, Tx.

Jerry grew up in Austin, Texas, attended Austin public schools through his graduation from McCallum High School in May 1963. He went on to attend the Austin School of Electronics successfully completing their required technical training programs.

Jerry entered the United States Air Force in 1965. After completing Air Force radio communications technical training at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was then transferred to Tyndall AFB, Panama City Florida. While stationed there, he had a short-term deployment to Hickham AFB, Honolulu, Hawaii, with an intended deployment to Vietnam, but was finally returned to Tyndall AFB, where he was Honorably Discharged in October 1968 after faithfully serving his country. After returning to civilian life, he worked for several major companies, including Unitech, Xerox, Motorola, the City of Austin Water Dept, and Solar Turbines Inc (Division of Caterpillar), in Desoto, Tx where he received a 25-year dedicated service award upon his retirement. Jerry was also employed by the City of Ennis working in the Ennis Railroad Museum as a museum guide, Nov, 2007 – July, 2015.

Jerry met his wife, Ronda, while working as a Service Repair Tech for Xerox in Dallas at Texas Instruments. They were married in Plano, Tx in November,1971, and both demonstrated a very loving devotion to each other throughout their entire married life until Ronda's passing April 2014. They moved to Ennis, Tx in 1997 so Ronda could be closer to her parents, and where they joined and became active members of First Methodist Church, with both participating in the church choir, and with Ronda also playing piano during Sunday services.

Jerry is survived by his two brothers, Ronald and Allan Becker, a niece Ashley Ebarb, nephews Jeff Bates, George Becker, Brian Becker, and all the rest of their immediate family members.

The family would like to also extend sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mary Dorsey and her staff with Haven Care Assisted Living in Kennedale, and to Larry Baily and his staff with Aleve Hospice Care in Mansfield, for all their committed and dedicated service to Jerry while he was under their care during his time of need.

Funeral Services are scheduled at First Methodist Church in Ennis, TX on Saturday October 5th at 11:00 am, with a pre-service visitation at 10:00 a.m. interment will follow in the Kerens cemetery Kerens, Texas @ 2:00 pm where Jerry will be laid to rest beside Ronda, the love of his life.

Jerry was mild-mannered, and truly a blessing to everyone he shared his gift of life with. He will surely be missed by all of those who were privileged to have known him. May he now rest in peace forever with Ronda and God's eternal grace.
