Jerry Judson Isom passed away, Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Frisco, Texas at the age of 82.

Jerry was born in Telico, July 1, 1940, to Cap Isom and Nettie Annie Thomas and was raised in Ennis. He was a farmer, barber, and General Contractor. He met and married the love of his life, Betty Raney Isom.

He loved fishing, hunting, frog gigging and riding horses and making deals, but most of all his loved his wife and his Family. He loved being outside and working with his hands. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix, engineer or re-engineer to make it better.

He was a visionary. He had a brilliant mind, and most of his ideas were usually ahead of their time. Most people would laugh and say that will never happen, but low and behold, time and time again, I witnessed those ideas come to pass.

Some favorite memories of Jerry's were beach vacations and family holiday's, especially the ice cream suppers at Aunt Annie's, and camping at the lake. Everyday was an adventure with him.

He learned many amazing things throughout his life. One of the greatest being: Seek first the Kingdom of God and all else will follow, be kind and charitable to others, be forgiving, your word is a bond, you can do anything you set your mind to, and failure is just part of the journey to success.

His most treasured accomplishment was his family, and nothing brought him more joy than his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, building churches and his cows.

He is survived by his children; Michael Isom and wife Ashley, Jeannie Ohrmundt, and husband Scott. Grandchildren; Jason and Shelley Guerrero, Misty Guerrero, Laci Hicks, Cullen Ohrmundt, Jared and Morgan Ohrmundt, Erin Isom and Zoe Isom. Great Grandchildren; Keira and Hannah Guerrero, Kyler and Reagen Williams, Lynnox and Marlene Ohrmundt - Ellisyn and Ivy Turner. Siblings; Linda Kaye Isom Hennis

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty, and son Mark Isom. Great Grandson, Jason Tomas Guerrero. Brothers; Waylon, Travis, Delba, Kenneth, Pat, Don, and Jim. Sisters; Louise, Virginia, and Annie.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. Reception will follow at the Comfort Suites.
