Jimmy G. Black, 79, passed away in Forney, Texas on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

Jimmy was born in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, on February 27, 1943, to Ralph J. and Stellean (Baugh) Black.  Jimmy grew up in Plano and attended school there. On January 1, 1972, he married Vickie Jo Miller and they made their home first in Mesquite, then to Wilmer and finally to Forney.

Jimmy worked for the City of Dallas for thirty-three years as a foreman for the Water Department and after retiring from the city he worked for O'Reilly's for fifteen years.

Jimmy was a member of the Seagoville Road Baptist Church, he enjoyed gardening, old country music and gospel music.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of fifty years, Vickie M. Black; sons: Jimmy Black, Jr. and Charles Black; daughter, Amy Brown; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, David Black; a sister, Rosemary Cox along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Natalie Dobbins; eight brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Palmer.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Palmer Cemetery with Rev. Gary Miller officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
