Jimmy Ray Weaver passed away on Wednesday, October 26 at the age of 82. He spent his final days eager to meet the Lord and surrounded by loved ones, including his wife of 62 years, Jean Locklear Weaver, and their children and grandchildren.

Ray was born to Jim Weaver and Leona Davis Weaver on February 18, 1940 in Dallas, Texas. A devoted son and brother, Ray's family grew when he met the love of his life, Jean, in 1957. They were married 3 years later in 1960 at Jean's church, Morrell Avenue Baptist Church, and together they had 3 children, Brenda, Michael, and Sharon.

Ray worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was proud to serve his community as a firefighter and EMT at Irving Fire Department for 30 years. Outside of work, Ray was a member of the Odd Fellows and loved his guitar, playing 42, camping, and raising cows and horses, winning countless horse shows. A cowboy at heart, Ray fulfilled his lifelong dream of being a farmer when he and Jean moved to Ennis, Texas after retiring from the fire department. Ray is best remembered for his faith in the Lord and service to his church, Baylor Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for nearly 20 years.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jean, and their 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from noon until 2 p.m. in the Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis, with a celebration of Jimmy's life following at 2 p.m. with Rev. Chet Hensley officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Interment will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
