It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Graf, who left us peacefully on April 28. 2025 at the age of 80. Joe was a beloved father and grandfather, known for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Born in Vernon, Texas on June 11, 1944, Joe lived a life full of warmth and generosity. He had a passion for sports of all kinds, but specifically golf and football.  Joe enjoyed the outdoors and was an experienced hunter and fishman.

Joe's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He would take great care in arranging summer adventures for Tyler and Tatum when they would come to visit him at his home in Amarillo. Whether it was a day at Wonderland Park, fishing by the lake or visiting the many sites of interest in the Texas Panhandle, Joe made certain to make the most of his time with those he loved. In addition to being a father and grandfather, Joe was a friend to many. This is especially true of his lifelong friendship with his best friend, Roy Cary with whom he spent many days and nights camping and fishing at their favorite spot, Copper Breaks State Park. He also was an avid card player and a regular at the senior's poker games at the Big Texan Steakhouse.

He is preceded in death by his father Edwin Paul Graf, mother Mary Ruth Graf, brother Oscar R. Graf, and his best friend, Roy Cary.  Joe is survived by children B. Keith Graf and his wife Linda of Austin, daughter Traci Averett and her husband David of Waxahachie, and son Rusty Frazier and his wife Mysti of Midland. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Tyler and Tatum Averett, Erica Thompson and Jaci Alviar and three great grandchildren. Joe, will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and his kindness.

A memorial service will be held at the families' home at a later date.
