Joetta was born on July 3, 1937 in St. Louis, MO, to Jim and Jewel (Woods) Light.

Joetta spent much of her childhood being raised by her mother and father, her aunt, and her grandmother.  While she was still in high school she began a part-time job working at Bell Telephone Company where she met, and later married, Bernard Roth.  By the age of twenty-six, she was the proud (and probably very tired) mother of seven, stair-stepped children.  As Bernard accepted promotions in his career, Joetta bravely agreed to move the family to Texas.  In 1965 they moved to Amarillo, Texas, then on to Sweetwater, Texas in 1967, and finally to Ennis, Texas in 1969.  At age 40 Joetta began working as a switchboard operator at the Dallas Statler Hilton Hotel, then went on to spend fifteen years as a brokerage assistant at Salomon Smith Barney.  She moved back to St. Louis temporarily in 1994 to care for her ailing aunt and her mother, and eventually moved back to Ennis in 2007.

Over the last twenty years of her life, Joetta pulled through several "certain death" medical pronouncements.  Mercifully, on Friday, November 6, 2020 God allowed her to go peacefully in her sleep.

Joetta is survived by her children: Terry Kitchens and husband, Jerry, Bernie Roth, Jr., Carol Crow, Anne Richman, Patty Lowry and husband, Joe, Greg Roth and wife, Janet and Kelly Prachyl and husband, Carl; grandchildren: Todd Kitchens, Ashlee Fells and husband, Aaron, Kyle Roth, Brittany Harvey and husband, Chase, Randy Crow, Christina Marshall and husband, David, Abel Lowry and wife, Presly, Eli Lowry and wife, Brooke, Cade Lowry, Paige Lowry, Stephanie Roth, Laura Haskovec and husband, Doug, Donna Roth and spouse Patricia, Troy Roth, Tracy Roth, Amber Hart and husband, Quincy, Rae Anne Delgado and husband, Mason and Kaila Roark; great-grandchildren: Addison Fells, Abram Fells, Dakota Harvey, Kaden Crow, Peyton Crow, Casey Crow, Michael Crow, Ava Marshall, Brooklyn Lowry, Blake Lowry, Iyona Williams, Ervin Haskovec, Theresa Haskovec, Mariah Hart, MacKinzie Hart, Mason Hart, Derik Epps and Olivia Delgado; brother, Gary Light; and nieces: Kim King, Chrissy Light and Rachel Light.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jewel Light; sister-in-law, Sharon Light; granddaughter, Roxanne Richman and her beloved companions: Quaker parrots Petey and Daisy.
