John Harley Lindley Sr. was born January 7, 1944 in Dallas, Tx to James Harley Portwood Lindley and Edna Mae Bennett-Lindley and passed from this life on July 18, 2021 in Ennis, Tx.

John graduated from Bryan Adams Highschool. . As a youth, he enjoyed baseball and working on cars. John entered into the air force in 1962, was a combat medic, and fought in the Vietnam War until he came home in 1968.

John and Judy met in 1972 and married in 1974 and their two families became one. He made a career as a film buyer and spent over twenty years at United Artist and Cinema Southwest. He then spent multiple years opening and managing multiple restaurants. John also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his best friend Tommy Ray. John believed time was of the essence. He so selflessly would do anything for anybody and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and older brother Jimmy McCoy Lindley.

John is survived by his wife and love of his life, Judy Estelle Lindley; his oldest daughter and her husband, Apryl and Bryan Halstead of Virginia, Pamela Mae Lindley of Virginia, Ronald Buck Parrish Jr. and Samantha Parrish of Duncanville, Texas, Tricha and Tom Gruppi of Longview, Tx., Christopher Bryan Parrish and Debra Parrish of Ennis, Texas, and John and Amber Lindley of Midlothian, Texas. Fifteen grandkids and eighteen great grandkids. As you see he had a very full and busy life with his family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.  Interment to follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
