John Douglas Norton Jr, 81 passed away on March 30th 2023 following a short illness.

Doug was born on July 2nd 1941 to John Douglas Norton Sr. and Kathleen Jones Norton in Terrell, Texas. He grew up in Terrell and graduated in 1960 from Terrell High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree from East Texas State in 1964. He married Donna Elliott Norton on April 7th 1995 and made their home in Ennis.

He had a long successful career in Sales at Croft Metals, International Windows, and Polyguard. He is a member of the Lions Club and Tabernacle Baptist Church. During his retirement he enjoyed travelling on cruises, spending time with family and friends, and driving around town with his precious poodles hanging out the window.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents and sister Marilyn Norton.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna Elliott Norton of 27 years. Daughters: Denise Norton (Donna Lee LaMarita), Christy Norton (Heath Sanders), Elizabeth Norton, Christi Kriska (Tommy Kriska), and son Darrell Metcalf (Erica Ellner). Close niece Jenny Heisel (Stan), Hillary Heisel, Ben Heisel (Emma) and a host of extended family and friends

Doug was known as Pops to his Grandkids: Scott Mullens (Samantha Mullens), Layne Guthrie, Logan Sanders, Morgan Gentry, Drew Metcalf, Kayla Metcalf and great grandson Carson Mullens.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 3rd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Tuesday April 4th at 10 a.m. at J. E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Doug's name to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis, Tx.
