John Kirvin Pierce, 95, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, January 24, 2022.

John was born in Powell, Texas on March 4, 1926, to William Thomas and Blanche (Aven) Pierce.  He grew up in Powell, Texas and attended school there.  On November 5, 1948, he married the love of his life, Carol Evangeline Bounds and they made their home in Corsicana.  John joined the United States Army where he served proudly.

John worked for General Motors on the assembly line for thirty-eight years.  He was a member of the Truck Stop Coffee Club.  He enjoyed working cattle and riding his tractor.

John is survived by sons: Ricky Pierce and wife, Betty and Alan Pierce and wife, Marcie; daughter, Vicky Woolsey and husband, Don; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Ray, Roy, Troy and Carter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on February 1, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Pallbearers will be Darrel Pierce, Jeff Woolsey, Jason Woolsey, Aaron Pierce, Ryan Carter, and Luke Price. Interment will follow in Kerens Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
