Jon Paul Monreal, 62, passed away in Gun Barrel City on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Jon Paul was born on August 7, 1958, to Rudy and Joy (Pritchett) Monreal.  He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1976.  He went on to attend the University of Texas at Arlington on a football scholarship.  In April of 1980 he married Charlotte Mullinax and they made their home in Ennis.

Jon Paul was the owner of M & M Tile for over thirty-five years.  He was a member of the Church of God.  Jon Paul played football for the Ennis High School during High School and was a member of the 1975 State Championship Team.  During High School he was also an All-American Football player.  He enjoyed bird hunting, dogs, football, baseball, and basketball.

Jon Paul is survived by his son, Zachary Monreal and wife, Lindsay; mother, Joy Monreal McCammon; brother, Pete Monreal and wife, Donna; sisters: Crissie Monreal and Ginger Monreal Thompson and husband, Jim along with a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rudy Monreal; niece, Avery Washington and his wife, Charlotte.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
