Juan Rivera, 71, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Ennis, Texas.

Juan was born on August 13, 1952, to Ausencio and Martina (Figueroa) Rivera in Ennis, Texas. Juan grew up in Ennis and attended school there, while in High School he was a track star and they called him "candy legs Rivera".

Juan enjoyed working as the stage manager for twenty-five years at Esther's Follies Comedy Club in Austin, Texas. Juan was a member of the Baptist Church. Juan enjoyed fishing along with spending time with family and friends.

Juan is survived by his daughter, Teresa Sheppard; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Rivera; sister, Frances Fira and husband, Agapito, Jr.; nieces: Virginia Ramirez and husband, Frank and Misty Gomez and her husband, Gilbert along with a host of extended family and friends.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
