Julia Alice Brown, 88, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Julia was born in Galveston, Texas, on April 23, 1933, to R. T. and Lola (Bell) Harris. She grew up in Monahans, Texas.  Julia worked as a teacher for St. John Catholic School in Ennis for over twenty-five years, for All Saints School for four years and for Precious Blood School for eight years.  She enjoyed playing hand and foot, bridge and collecting antiques.

Julia is survived by sons: Allen Brown and wife, Wanda, Pat Brown and wife, Cindy and Greg Brown and wife, Melissa; seven grandchildren: Caleb, Derek, Jason, Sean, Caroline, Audrey and Ben; three great-grandchildren: Sadie, Waylon and Conrad; brother, Jim Bell Harris; sister, Dannye Bristow along with a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene Allen Brown.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the First Methodist Church of Ennis with Dr. Larry Jinks officiating.  Pallbearers will be Brian Krieger, Brent Vrla, Brian Holland, Jake Holland, Bradley Cepak and Alex Adamcik. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
