Kay Gibbons Haymond passed away December 3, 2022, in Bluefield, Virginia.

Kay was born in Ennis, Texas, November 23, 1943. Her father was Jack Gibbons and her mother was Kathryn Scott Gibbons. Her sister, Sharon Gibbons Luby passed away in 1998.

Kay was a graduate of the 1962 class of Ennis High School. She was a proud member of the Ennis High Marching Band. She always fondly remembered her time at EHS and her many school friends.

Kay attended Texas Tech University for two years. She graduated from the University of Houston with degrees in English and Latin. Kay taught English in the Houston ISD for almost fifty years. She couldn't go out to dinner without seeing former students who always thanked her for being a great teacher.

Kay is survived by a son, Edgar Winfield Haymond of Houston, Texas.

Graveside services for Kay will be held at the family plot in Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis at a later date.
