Kirk Damron Morris, age 60, of Ennis passed away July 9, 2023. Born in Dallas on November 14, 1962 to Jack and Donna Morris, Kirk received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Texas Christian University in 1985 and his Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M- Commerce in 1988. He met the love of his life, Christy, in 1986 and promptly proposed three weeks later. Kirk was passionate about his work in road construction. He was employed in various roles for companies across Texas for the last 38 years, most recently working for Angel Brothers Enterprises, Ltd. and CRH Americas Texas Materials, Gulf Coast. He served as a board member for the Texas Asphalt Paving Association (TXAPA), as well as Fort Worth Area Chairman and member of committees for the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Texas. Kirk was a man of faith, reading his Bible cover to cover many times over. He took great joy in studying God's Word. His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 57:14 (ISV), "And one has said: 'Build up! Build up the road! Prepare the highway! Remove every obstacle from my people's way.'" He loved fly fishing, hunting, walks along Crystal Beach, grilling out, and attending the Dallas Summer Musicals with his wife. Never one to sit in silence, Kirk filled a room with his boisterous personality, stories, and knowledge of random historical facts.

Kirk leaves behind his wife, Christy; children, Payne and Kendall; son-in-law Soham; grandson, Shepherd; brother Ross and wife Jessica Morris; sister Kim and husband Kevin Ludwick; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerry and Mary Helen Smith; sister-in-law Beverly Horak; brother-in-law Blaine and wife Karen Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Donna Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. July 15 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis , with a visitation to follow in the church café.

In lieu of flowers and in remembrance, the Morris family has asked for donations to be given to the Kirk Morris Memorial Scholarship through the Miss Texas Organization, which Kirk supported for years through his daughter.
