Kristi Renee (Lawson) Adair, age 53, of Palmer, Texas, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on November 5, 1972, in Dallas, Texas.

Kristi was raised in Palmer, Texas, where she proudly played in the Palmer Bulldog Band and served as trainer for the Palmer basketball team. After graduating, she married the love of her life, Mike Adair, and together they made their home in Ennis before welcoming their daughter, Maci Raye Adair.  Later, the family moved to Palmer until her final illness and passing.

Teaching was far more than a career for Kristi—it was her calling and her ministry. As a Special Education teacher at Ennis High School, she dedicated herself to helping students discover their abilities and recognize their worth. Later, she continued that mission at the District Alternative Education Program (DAEP), where she worked with students facing some of life's greatest challenges. She affectionately called them "her babies," and she loved each one with patience, compassion, and unwavering belief in their potential. To Kristi, every student deserved to be seen, loved, and given every opportunity to succeed.

Her commitment to Ennis ISD extended well beyond the classroom. Kristi was a familiar face at basketball games, faithfully keeping the scoreboard whenever she could. Even during seasons when her health was declining, she rarely let that keep her from supporting the students and community she loved.

Kristi's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation upon which she built her life. She was an active and devoted member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church, serving faithfully whenever her health allowed. Over the years, she taught children, served as the church historian, and filled many other roles. However, one of her greatest joys was serving alongside the JOY Group, the church's celebrated senior adults. She treasured those friendships and found great fulfillment in ministering to others through her church family.

One of Kristi's greatest passions was Ellis County Special Olympics, where she began volunteering in 2001. What started as an opportunity to serve became a lifelong ministry. For twenty-five years, she coached athletes in bowling, basketball, bocce, and track while also assisting with volleyball and soccer. She served as Head of Delegation for Ennis for eight years and later for the Ellis County United Delegation from 2024 through 2026.

One of the most memorable moments of Kristi's Special Olympics journey was leading the bowling team to the Special Olympics National Unified Tournament in Las Vegas in February 2024. Watching her athletes compete on the national stage was one of her proudest accomplishments and reflected the dedication, encouragement, and love she poured into Special Olympics throughout her years of service.

Kristi believed wholeheartedly in the abilities of every Special Olympics athlete. She celebrated every victory, encouraged every effort, and loved every athlete as though they were part of her own family. Her influence reached far beyond medals and competitions—it was found in the confidence she inspired, the friendships she built, and the dignity she showed to every individual she served. Her legacy within Ellis County Special Olympics will continue for generations.

Those who knew Kristi will remember her servant's heart, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering dedication to helping others. Whether in the classroom, at church, on the basketball court, or alongside her Special Olympics athletes, she lived a life that reflected Christ's love through humble service. She gave freely of herself, expecting nothing in return except the opportunity to make someone else's life a little brighter.

Kristi is survived by her faithful and loving husband, Mike Adair; her beloved daughter, Maci Raye Adair; and Jason Stone.  She is survived by parents Michael Lawson, Sherry Lawson and Teresita Lawson.  She is also survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Antley and husband Jonathan, Karen Anthony and husband Michael, Michael Lawson and wife Lindsey, Michelle Lawson-Sosa and Gaige Corey and Gregory Gracie Lawson-Sosa; and her cherished nieces, nephews, and family , Ethan, Taylor, and Sarah Flynt,  Matthew and Carley Lawson, Owen Anthony, and Jake Anthony and Cohen Corey. She was supported by special family including Robbie Flynt and Becky Lawson.  She also leaves behind countless extended family members, cherished friends, fellow educators, church family, Special Olympics athletes, and former students whose lives were forever changed by her love and encouragement.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Autry Lee Lawson; her grandmother, Billye Raye Lawson; her "favorite" Uncle Gregory Paul Lawson; her grandmother, Murel Wilson; and her cousin, Becky Lynn Welch.

While her family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they rejoice in the assurance that Kristi is now healed, whole, and forever at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, compassion, perseverance, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of the students she taught, the athletes she coached, the church she faithfully served, and the family and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Anthony Drive Baptist Church, Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Anthony Drive Baptist Church of Ennis with Rev. Matt Walker officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Lawson Sr. ,Michael Lawson Jr., Michael Anthony, Robbie Flynt , Ethan Flynt , Matthew Lawson and Jason Stone .

Private burial will be held in Palmer Cemetery.
