Larry Dale Close, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in Ennis, Texas.

Larry was born in Vernon, Texas, on August 11, 1947, to Homer and Margaret Geneva (Hamilton) Close. He grew up in Vernon, Texas and attended school there. Larry joined the United States Army and served his country proudly.  Larry married Jackie Bowers and they originally made their home in Plano, Texas.

Larry was a carpenter by trade for over fifty years. Larry enjoyed building hot rods and doing historical home restorations.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jackie Bowers Close; son, Robert Close and wife, Denna; daughters: Kimberlea Close and Melanie Norstrom and husband, Eric; grandchildren: Billy Bliss, Amber Muller, Kayla Close, Brandy Close, Cody Close, Zachary Close, John Close, Peter Anderson and Lincoln Norstrom; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald "Butch" Close; sister, Beverly Boshier and a host of extended family and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Close.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 27 at 9:30 a.m. in DFW National Cemetery with Daryl Close officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
