Larry Skinner, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in his home surrounded by family, in Ennis, Texas.

Larry Skinner was born on the 11 ^th day of October, AD, 1947 at 11:30 a.m. to Glen Marshall and Edna Martin Skinner Welcomed their second son Larry Marshall Skinner in the old Corsicana hospital weighing in at 11 lbs, 10 oz.

Larry began his education at Fannin Elementary in Corsicana before transferring to Allen Military Academy at Bryan in College Station.  He entered the Army as an officer serving at Fort Hood with a 3 year tour in Germany.  Captain Skinner separated from the military with an honorable discharge after 8 years on March 24, 1970.  Larry married Nita Mooney on June 8, 1968.  They began their family with Traci Lynn on September 27, 1970 and Jonathan David on April 14, 1974.  Larry married Pamela Duncan on September 22, 1980 and they made their home on the old Sellers Farm. Son Dustan Wayne Duncan was born on April 19, 1978. Lettie Elise was born on January 13, 1982; Patrick Len was born March 17, 1985.

Larry served as the Parks and Recreation Director of the City of Ennis for many years.  During his time with the city he is accredited with building the Bluebonnet Park, Lions Park and Veterans Park.  Larry was an avid reader and would like donation to the Ennis Public Library made in lieu of flowers.  He had a great love of the outdoors which he shared with all of his children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Pam Skinner; his children: Traci, Jonathan, Dustan, Lettie and Patrick; eleven grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; a brother, Allan Skinner and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Edna Skinner.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
