Laura Gay Lewis was born to Sid and Ruth Osborn on September 10, 1935. She joined her beloved son, Randy at home in heaven on August 18, 2025 at 89 years old - less than a month before her 90th birthday.

Laura Gay married J.L. (Jelly) Lewis on January 8th, 1954 and they welcomed 4 children to the world - Randy, Dennis, Lacy and Darren.

She spent many years as an homemaker and later decided to go back to school in 1985 to earn a BS in Nursing. She worked at Ennis Baylor Hospital for many years including 10 years in the Emergency room. She later went to work for Baylor Home health care system before her retirement.

Laura Gay was a woman of strong faith. She always quoted the perfect scripture when you needed one.

"Meemaw" cherished time with family, especially her grand - and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Ruth Osborn, the father of her children J.L. (Jelly) Lewis, her oldest son Randy, her brothers Sidney Osborn, Raymond Osborn, WC (Dub) Osborn, James Osborn, and her sisters, Esther Ruth Scott, Merle Clark, and Ginny Osborn.

She is survived by her daughter in law Deliah Lewis, son Dennis and wife Clarissa Lewis, daughter Lacy Thompson and husband Wayne, and son Darren and wife Staci Lewis - Grand children Eric, Tiffany, Katie, Brett, Elise, Meagan, Chris, Jon, Blake, Morgan and Emma - 16 great grandchildren - A special niece, Carla Kay Minter Tapley and bonus daughter, Tammie Lou Lowery Castillo - and her sisters, Martha Powell, Carolyn Ward, and her brother Randall Osborn  and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Brett Lewis, Chris Lewis, Jon Lewis, Ryan Amerson, Austin Clark, and Drew Thompson.

Lifelong, close friend and pastor Grady Cashion will be officiating her service.

The family would like to extend their love and sincere thanks to the residents and staff at the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Retirement Center in Ennis . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IOOF in Ennis .

VISITATION will be held Sunday August 24,2025 from 3-5pm at the J. E. Keever Mortuary, 408 N. Dallas Street in Ennis.

A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held Monday August 25, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery.

Interment will be in Myrtle cemetery, under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
