Lawrence A. Slovacek passed away peacefully on the night of Friday, April 23, 2021. Lawrence was born in Ennis, Texas on August 21, 1934 to Joe Slovacek and Angeline Vavra. Lawrence grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1951. Lawrence worked at McClain's Food Store from 1952 to 1954 and at Safeway from 1957 to 1961 when he joined the US Army. After serving 2 years in the US Army, he returned to Safeway until being recalled to service. After his service, Lawrence returned to Safeway once again where he worked as a food clerk from 1962 to 1987 before retiring. He also spent time working on his family's farm. Lawrence was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Ennis, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lawrence is survived by numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

The Rosary for Lawrence Slovacek will be held at 9 am on Friday, April 30, 2021 at J.E. Keever Mortuary Inc. chapel, officiated by Father John Dick, with services to follow at 10 am at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment will be held at St. Joseph's cemetery in Ennis, TX.
