Linda Joyce Baxter was born on February 13, 1944 to Lewis and Aline (Harris) Deal in Bristol, TX and peacefully left her earthly home to join her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2022.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathy Jean; brothers, Jimmy Glen Deal and Lewis Erwin Deal Jr and partner, Roger Brown.
She is survived by daughter, Belinda and husband, Wes, of Carrollton; son , James Jr and wife, Maureen, of Waxahachie; step daughter, Carrie Thomas of Farmersville; grandsons, Nicholas Baxter of Mansfield; Connor Baxter and wife, Elizabeth, of Mansfield; granddaughter, Haleigh Chen of Farmersville; and sister in law, Linda Deal of McKinney.
Linda grew up and spent the majority of her life in Dallas. She was a hard worker usually working several jobs (various banks and retail stores) at once to meet the need of her children. She was vibrant and always up for an adventure— from riding motorcycles, cruises, antique shopping, garage sale/ estate sales, to taking her grandsons on their week long summer trips, to later in life when macular degeneration stole most of her vision and ability to drive—walking at the mall, Senior center dances, "secret" casino outings, Kohls to spend her coupons, church and Bible studies, to simple walks in the park..she simply loved living.
She loved and cherished her family and her friends with all her heart and each of us will carry Linda stories and great memories in our heart and minds. She is and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Vista Ridge Nursing and Rehab, Vitas Hospice/Inpatient Carrollton unit for the enduring patience and love shown to Linda during these past hard/trying months of her life.
Family visitation will be at J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc., 408 N Dallas Street, Ennis, TX 75119 from 12-2 pm .
A service in the chapel will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 with pallbearers: Nicholas Baxter, Connor Baxter, Robert Horsman and Robert Deal.
