Linda Spence, 76, joined her forever valentine in her Savior's presence on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was born on October 3, 1944 in Waxahachie, TX to Royce Lott and Bea (Wortman) Lott. Her early years held many fond memories of growing up in the Sardis community. She fondly recalled attending Sunday School at the Methodist church in Sardis as well as her early elementary school days at Sardis school. In the mid 1950's, after the family moved to Waxahachie, she accepted Christ and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. Linda often recalled her formative years as a young girl and teen, and the biblical truth learned and the added stability that a loving church provided.

She finished her education in Waxahachie schools, graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1962. She met the love of her life, Kelton Spence, at the beginning of 1963 with a mutual feeling of love at first sight, and by October they were married at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Early in their marriage, Linda worked for the Texas Power & Light Co in Dallas and later she was employed with the Citizens National Bank in Ennis. They found their forever home in the Ennis community where they raised their two sons, Chad and Brad. After making Ennis home, Linda attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, Hopewell Community Church, and Cowboy Church throughout her remaining years.

In December of 1975, she left the workforce to devote her time and energy to her husband and boys. She was active in the community in various ways, including membership in Beta Sigma Phi and holding an administrative position for Central High Volunteer Fire Department for several years. She could always be found helping with community fundraisers or assisting with dinners. There was never a doubt that she could be counted on and would help out in any way she could. She consistently volunteered as room mother during the elementary years of her children and was always involved in any of the endeavors or interests that the boys pursued-whether it be FFA, Boy Scouts, sports, or just being the neighborhood home that was always open to their friends. She became a mother to them all.

Linda's artistic talent was another area in which she excelled. From ceramics, landscape paintings, and acrylics/oils, to flower arrangements for decor as well as full sets of wedding bouquets, mums, etc. The list goes on forever.

In 2001, Linda gained the title which trumped all others, "Memaw", through the birth of her granddaughter, Lanie. Linda cherished every minute with her little angel and loved her dearly. She could often be heard bragging and sharing the latest news about her precious granddaughter.

Her latter years included volunteering at First Look Boutique in Ennis along with many trips to Gran's Antiques with her sister Carolyn. And while the antique shop was always on the agenda, many other stops were sure to be made. Linda was always ready to go and loved to take mini-vacations and road trips with her family. Her last trip was to College Station to see Texas A&M University where her granddaughter is attending.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Kelton David Spence. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Kelton Chad Spence and his wife Debbie and Kiley Brad Spence and his wife Shelley; her granddaughter Lanie Spence, all of Ennis; her sister, Carolyn Rosson of Ennis and brother, Edwin Lott and his wife Debbie of Waxahachie; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Pallbearers are Chad Spence, Brad Spence, Chance Askew, Clint "Killer" Nelson, Dustan Duncan, and JR Sellers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm at J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. of Ennis.

Funeral Services will be held at J.E. Keever's of Ennis on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 10am with Bob Thomas of Tabernacle Baptist Church and Michael Howard of Cowboy Church officiating. Interment will follow at Rice Cemetery in Rice, TX under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
