Lisa Kay
Clark - Houdek

J.E. Keever Mortuary
Starts at 2:00 pm (Central time)
Lisa Kay Clark was born in Waxahachie, Texas on March 6, 1957 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 29, 2926 in Ennis, Texas.
Lisa had a strong Christian upbringing, and a deep love and faith in Jesus Christ and the Holy Father. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie where she was saved and baptized. Her faith grew every year of her life.
Lisa had short office careers at Leggett & Platt, Ennis Steel, Price Industries and a law firm in Dallas. In 1995 she was blessed to marry her beloved David, whom she called her Saint and sometimes even her “Handyman from Hell”. Lisa ended her work outside the home and flourished at babysitting and spoiling her greatest blessings, her grandchildren.
She inherited an incredible creative streak from her mother, who taught her to sew at an early age. Lisa handcrafted beautiful things that had a spiritual theme. She often showed them at craft fairs in Waxahachie, specifically the early Gingerbread Trails shows and antique malls in the area. Christmas brought great joy to Lisa because she believed if you were blessed you should bless others. She was a kind, generous, and loving person who was a Secret Santa to someone every year. Her Christmas trees were masterpieces because she had such an eye for color, symmetry, and design.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, James W. Clark and her mother Eva Merle Clark, her brother James D. Clark, and sister Connie L. Clark.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, David Houdek, daughter Amanda Nelson and husband Ben, daughter Holly Bates, stepson Nick Houdek and wife Courtney; Grandchildren TC Nelson, Gabby Nelson, Ryan Nelson, and Barrett Nelson; Hunter Vasquez and wife Darian, Presley Woods, Christopher Rhea, and twins Aydn and Addy Houdek; Great-grandchildren Oliver Woods, Claire Vasquez, and twins Cameron and Carter Vasquez. Also surviving are her twin sisters, Jean Tiner and husband Jim, and Joan Norch and partner Bob, along with many precious cousins, her aunts Martha Powell and Carolyn Ward, Uncle Randall Osborn and nephew Chris Price and wife Michelle.
