Louis Henry Maliska, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, in Waxahachie, Texas.

Louis was born in Kaufman, Texas, on August 23, 1933, to Louis and Mary (Miklis) Maliska. He attended school in Kaufman.

On July 7, 1953, he married Elsie Dlabaj and they made their home in Oak Cliff. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War, Elsie joined him in France and she lived with a couple for eighteen months while he was stationed there.

Louis was an exterminator owning L & J Exterminating until his retirement where he then enjoyed raising vegetables in the garden. Louis loved spending time outside, gardening, making crosses and fishing were among his hobbies. He loved watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he enjoyed aggravating and joking around.

Louis was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Louis is survived by his wife of over seventy years, Elsie Maliska; children: Cathy Smith, Paul Maliska, Monte Maliska and wife, Gracie; grandchildren: Jacob Smith, Jessica Maliska and husband, Chris, Josie Mueller and husband, David, and Jennifer Young and husband, Clint; great- grandchildren: Kaylee, Mikayla, Katelyn, Kenzie, Reese, Rayf, Levi, Rhett, Brooks, and Walker; great-great-grandchildren: Paxton, Rayley, Penelope, Maverick, and Jayde; sister, Marie Dewbre; and a multitude of extended family and friends.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren: Jay Lee Maliska and John Nature Smith.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Chris Maliska, Clint Young, David Mueller, Jacob Smith, Steve Prokop and Mark Heine. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
