Luther Melvin Story passed away January 18, 2024 on his 93rd birthday, in Tyler, Texas. Luther was born on January 18,1931, to Elbert and Beulah Story in Dallas, Texas.

Luther was the oldest of 4 boys and raised primarily in the Waxahachie area. On July 31, 1950, he married Bobbie Spencer, the love of his life. Luther worked for Lone Star Gas for 25 years until his retirement as district manager in 1985.

Luther and Bobbie enjoyed retirement living in various places including Galveston, Corpus Christi, Harlingen, and Las Vegas. Luther and Bobbie were married for 72 years.

Known as "Pawpaw" by his grandchildren, they remember his laughter and love for his family. He was an avid sporting analyst, coin collector, and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Luther is survived by his two children - Monte Story of Whitney and Lynette Brynie of Tyler; his two grandchildren - Jaime Brynie with her wife Jamie; Michal Brynie with his wife Brandi; his four great-grandchildren - Kadin, Brooklyn, James and Brayden; nephews Bryan, Allen, Michael, and Tim; And nieces Laina, Julie, and Tami.

Luther is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Story, parents Elbert & Beulah Story, and his brothers Lester, Glenn, and Bobbie.
