Marcelo Sanchez Cardenas, 68, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Marcelo was born in Caracualo, Mexico, on May 30, 1955, to Francisco and Ma Antonia (Sanchez) Cardenas. Marcelo grew up in Mexico and moved to Texas in the 1980's. Marcelo was married to Rosalita Garza and they lived in Ennis until her death.

Marcelo worked for Leggett and Platt for over six years in the warehouse. Marcelo was a devoted family man and loved his family dearly through the good and bad times.

Marcelo is survived by his son, Jose Diaz and his wife, Karissa; daughter, Rebecca Diaz; grandchildren: Anna Diaz and Alondra Diaz; three sisters: Ninfa, Maria and Savy along with a multitude of extended family and friends.

Marcelo is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rosalita.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Chapel, under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
