Maria Erlinda Gomez, 77, born in Driscoll, Texas, resident of Ennis, Texas, peacefully was called home on November 4, 2023.

Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Jesus Gomez, Sr, parents: Fortino and Carolina (Tuscana) Gaona, son-in-law, Jimmy Mendez, Jr., grandson, Anthony James "AJ" Mendez, brothers: Rudolfo "Fito", Saragaso "Goacha", Juanito, sisters: Elena, Amelia and Alicia "Licha".

Maria was an extremely charismatic woman, she was a true fighter and aimed by all means to enjoy and live life to the fullest. Her health was far from being easy, but she never gave up. Maria was a woman of love, joy and peace. She was a woman of strength, a woman of courage and a woman of God.

Maria enjoyed cooking, cleaning, playing bingo, scratching lottery tickets and going to the casinos. Maria loved to go eat out at fine restaurants, but most of all she loved getting her nails and hair done along with shopping. Every time you saw her, she was dressed to the extent of the beauty she was.

She is survived by her children: Margarita Marmolejo (David), Gilberto Gomez (Misty), Jose Jesus Gomez, Jr., Felicita Mendez (Guero), Meria Turner (Jose), Mabel McNeely (Arnie Ray); grandchildren: Bryan Pyle, Garrett Turner, David Marmolejo III, Steven Marmolejo, Melanie Martinez, Lauren Turner, Michael Gomez, Marissa Gomez and a host of others; great-grandchildren: Carter and Aubrey Pyle, Lexie Martinez, Kinsley Harrell, Aiden Diep, David Marmolejo, IV, Elaina Marmolejo, Meliyah Marmolejo and Chris Martinez.

Maria E. Gomez will truly be missed but never forgotten!

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 9 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be David Marmolejo, III, Bryan Pyle, Garrett Turner, Frank Gutierrez, Freddie Gutirrez and Ramiro Gutierrez. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
