Marie Lillian Prachyl, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Marie was born in Ennis, Texas, on September 8, 1930, to Czech farming immigrants Leslie and Antonie Valek Spaniel. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in 1948. On August 4, 1951, she married the love of her life, Anthony Prachyl, and they made their home in Ennis, Texas.

Marie was a devoted catholic wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marie was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT, and KJZT. You could find Marie outside enjoying nature most of the time, especially gardening and mowing. Marie was also an excellent cook and loved to share her recipes with her family and friends.

Marie is survived by her children: Glenn Prachyl and his wife Patricia, Cheryl Beuttas and her husband Rob, and Randy Prachyl, along with her grandchildren: Jeffery Prachyl and his wife Katie, Jody Hernandez and her husband Julio, and Jared Prachyl and his wife Emily. Marie had one great-grandchild, Bennett Prachyl. Marie is also survived by her brother Leslie Spaniel, her beloved dog Shiner, and a host of extended family.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony Prachyl, and brother Milton Spaniel.

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and will be followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father John Dick as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Prachyl, Jared Prachyl, Julio Hernandez, Kevin Slovak, David Liska, and John Hejny.
