Martha Myrtle Kitchens, 76, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020 in Ennis, Texas.

Martha was born in Ben Wheeler, Texas on November 14, 1943 to Jessie Franklin and Oma Dell (Lovejoy) Graham.  Martha grew up in Colfax and graduated from Van High School.  Martha received her Master's in Education from East Texas State University.  On November 26, 1969 Martha married Thomas F. Kitchens and they made their home in Ennis.

Martha taught various Elementary Grades for the Ennis Independent School District for over twenty-nine years.  Martha was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Palmer and Retired Teachers of Ennis.  Martha enjoyed reading.  Family was the joy of her life especially her grandchildren.

Martha leaves behind her son, Matthew Kitchens and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren: James and Naomi; a sister, Anne Huff and host of extended family, friends and students that were blessed to have such a caring teacher.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas "Tommy" Kitchens, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Gary Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
