Marva Sue Bardwell Jones passed away peacefully on March 18,2024, at the age of 85 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born March 25, 1938 in Ardmore Oklahoma to Buck and Nadine Bardwell.  Sue grew up in Palmer, Texas attending school and graduating in the class of 1955.  She went on to attend Navarro College where she was a drum majorette and in the homecoming court.  Sue later joined the workforce where she met the love of her life Bobby Jones.  The two were married on November 1, 1958.  She was an accomplished businesswoman working for Landmark Savings and Loan and later helping her husband build a successful family business, Bee Jay Business Forms.  But the job Sue loved the most was becoming a mother to two sons and a daughter.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, reading and her chickens but none of these compared to the joy of becoming Nonna to four grandsons and later a great grandson.  Sue could often be found cheering on one or more of her grandsons and their friends.  She was Nonna to all and everyone relied on her "Nonna Bag" where you could find anything from band-aids to biscuits (homemade of course)!

Sue is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bobby. She is survived by son Marvin Jones and wife Andralyn, son Michael Jones and Amber Conatser, and daughter Rebecca Pugh and husband Randy; four grandsons:  Dustin Jones, Jordan Jones, Landon Pugh and wife Sidnee, Logan Pugh and great grandson Layton Pugh.  One sister, Judy Richardson and one brother Jack Bardwell and wife Fran, along with a host of nieces and nephews and many close friends.  Sue will be remembered for her loving heart, her kind spirit, her desire to take care of everyone else and the fact that she was always prepared for anything and everything.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Palmer, Texas.

A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Palmer, Texas. Pall Bearers: Dustin Jones, Jordan Jones, Landon Pugh, Logan Pugh, David Richardson, Kevin Richardson, Joshua Bardwell, and Colby Cottongame. Honorary: Cory Richardson, and Layton Pugh. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
