Mary Elizabeth Hays Fudge went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on May 9, 2025 at the age of 86.

Mary was born in Ennis, TX on October 19, 1938 to George and Louina Hays. She grew up in Ennis, TX and graduated from Ennis High School in 1956. She married her soul mate Robert (Bob) Henry Fudge on May 24, 1956. They would be celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary this month. They made their home in Ennis, TX. They were both faithful members of Anthony Drive Baptist Church. It saddened them when they could no longer attend in their later years.

During her life she worked at the Sears & Roebuck Catalog Store in Ennis, sold Real Estate for a brief time and retired from the City of Ennis in January 1999 from the Parks and Water Department as she was the Purchasing Clerk and Business Office Manager.

Mary's favorite pass-time was spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids, especially taking us shopping. We all learned how to shop and had so much fun in the process.

She is survived by the love of her life Robert (Bob) Fudge, daughter Cindy Toal and husband Richard; daughter Cathy Clark and husband Larry; son Robert Dale Fudge; Grandchildren: Stephanie Toal, Ashley Toal Odom, husband Justin, Robert Wayne Fudge, wife Brittany, Chad Clark, wife Pam, Troy Clark, wife Jamie, Bill Clark, wife Chris; Great Grandchildren: Matthew Havens, Lillian Havens, Taelyn Fudge, William Odom, Morgan Clark Braun, husband Alex, Austin Clark, fiancé Montana, Kaitlin Clark, Delanie Clark; Great Great Grandchildren: Robert Braun, Everett and Emmalyne Clark.

She is Preceded in Death by her son Timothy Wayne Fudge, Her Parents George W. Hays and Louina T. Hays; Her Brothers B. Gene Hays, George W. Hays Jr., Louis Edward Hays and sister Lou Dora Hays.

We would like to give a special thanks to Bluebonnet Rehab of Ennis and Bristol Hospice for their efforts, kindness and Care during her final week on this earth.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Matt Walker and Tony Sinclair officiating.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
