Mary Ella Macalik Gibson, 76, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Mary Ella was born February 26, 1947, in Ennis, Texas to Joseph Rudolph and Christine (Salik) Macalik. Following God's call to nurture, she was a loving, dedicated mother and Grandmommy.  Her daughter and grandchildren were her life's joy.  She worked almost three decades in the insurance industry and retired in April of 2012. Throughout her life she always thought of others first and sacrificed much.  She enjoyed birdwatching, crafting of all kinds, and leisurely drives in the country.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Josephine, her brothers, Joe Ben, Daniel, and Anthony and his wife JoAnne.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Robie and her husband Paul, her grandchildren, Celia, Bennett and Charlotte, her brother, Gerald, her sister, Christine Mokry and her husband Al, her sisters-in-law, Helen Macalik and Margie Macalik, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be Gary Macalik, Gorden Macalik, Tim Macalik, Andrew Frye, Bobby Slovak and Clayton Houston. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Patak, David Patak, Johnny Patak and Anthony Macalik, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00am in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father James Yamauchi as celebrant, followed by graveside services at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to Lupus research or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
