Marylou Cole Beck passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021, in her home at Buffalo Creek Assisted Living in Waxahachie, where she resided for the past 1 ½ years.

Mrs. Beck was born to T.C. (Mug) and Bruna (Brunie) Cole in Lubbock, Texas, on January 15, 1939. She later met the love of her life, Hibbert Beck, in Ferris, Texas. They tied the knot on February 1, 1957, and were happily married for 53 years, living in Palmer, Texas, for their entire marriage.

Mrs. Beck loved sharing stories of her life so much, that she wrote two books: "Memories of a Cowboy's Daughter" and "So I Married an Ag Teacher." She was an expert at creating counted cross stitch masterpieces, and many of them are proudly displayed in the homes of many friends and family members.

Mrs. Beck's greatest love was sharing stories and pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was the true matriarch of the family. She retired from Palmer ISD and enjoyed travelling with Mr. Beck until his death in 2010.

Mrs. Beck is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Hibbert Beck, parents Mug and Brunie Cole, sister Carolyn Cole Hill, and son-in-law David Lee. She is survived by a sister, Donna Cole Martin, of Spring, Texas; her son Wes Beck and wife Lisa, of Early, Texas, daughters Jeannie Lee of Hico, Texas, and Julie Butler and husband Ronney of Palmer, Texas; grandchildren Leslie Beck, Amy and Rory Barros, Cassi and Bret St. Clair, Teresa Lee, Lucas and Kelsey Butler, and Mallory and Clark Vickers; and great-grandchildren Callee and Layla St. Clair and Levens Butler; nieces and nephews, and many more family members and friends.

Before her death, Mrs. Beck requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hibbert and Marylou Beck Memorial FFA Scholarship, at PO Box 523, Palmer, Texas 75152.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Palmer, Texas.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
