Maude Alice Gentry, 83, passed away in Fairfield, Texas on Sunday, November 15, 2020.

Alice was born in Austin, Texas on January 15, 1937 to Joseph Joachim and Irene Corneilus (Bills) Delwaide.  She grew up in Lueders and graduated from Azle High School.  Alice went on to graduated for Brantley Business College.  On June 27, 1959 she married Ernest Leamon "Sonny" Gentry, Jr.

Alice worked as a secretary for General Dynamic and as a secretary and bus driver for Lueders-Avoca ISD.  She was a member of the American Legion and had been a Scout Leader with her boys during Webelos and Boy Scout years.  She loved making costumes for her family and others.  She was a vivacious person who loved making life fun for everyone.

She is survived by sons: Ernest Leslie "Les" Gentry and Edward Lee "Eddie" Gentry and wife, Amberlyn; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of former students that she loved driving around in her school bus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, step-son, Stephen Wayne Gentry and sister, Beverly Jo Names.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
