Melinda Lou Farar of Garland, Tx, passed away on October 28, 2024 at the age of 75. Melinda was born on August 12, 1949, in Navarro County, Tx. She attended Lake Highlands high school where she played the clarinet and was a majorette in the band. She is a graduate of Lake Highlands high school in the class of 1967.

Following high school, Melinda worked for the rail road as well as for State Farm Insurance. She married Artie Farar in December of 1990, and they made their home in Garland. She loved spending time with her best friend Mary Lou, and tending to her dogs.

Melinda is preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Artie Farar; mother, Alva Lenell (Mosley) Weber; father, William Tell Schluneger Jr; and her brother William Tell Schluneger III. She is survived by her two nieces: Rachel Elaine Rodriguez and Rebecca Jean Schluneger.

She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, her love of animals, and her hard work ethic which she modeled to those around her. Her absence will leave a gap in the lives of those who knew her well.

A memorial service will be held on November 9, 2024 at 2pm in Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, with Pastor Lee Brewer as celebrant.
