It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Merle Eugene Jarvis of Grandview, Texas. A devoted husband, father, pawpaw and friend. Merle passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by his family.

Merle was born on December 3, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Jarvis of 44 years, both parents: Robert and Edith Jarvis, 11 brothers, sisters and grandson, Brandon Palmer.

Merle accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1984, he retired in 2011 from Phillips Lumber Co., where he drove a truck for 33 years. Merle lived a full life, he enjoyed being with his family, watching football, fishing, and working in the yard and on lawn mowers.

Merle is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Tina and Troy Hamilton, Melia and Jeff Hughes, Denice and Charles Brown, two nephews he loved as his own, Danny Weimer and Randal Bradshaw, eight grandchildren: Robert, Taryn, Cody, Tonia, Lauren, Cortney, Dakota and Jaeci; six great grandchildren: Tyler, Noah, Kaison, Colt, Fisher and Landon; two brothers and their wives, Virgil and Betty Jarvis and Robert, Jr. and Linda Jarvis.

Rest in peace Merle, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in our hearts of all who were lucky enough to know you.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from noon until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Chapel of Ennis with Pastor Jimmy McNeil officiating.   Interment will follow in Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
