Michael Leslie Glenn (77), of Alma Tx, passed away on January 26, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Feb 3rd, 11am at Tabernacle Baptist Church , 1200 Country Club Road, Ennis, Texas . Casual attire recommended for the Memorial Service in honor of Mike. Meal to follow for family and friends at the ALMA Community Center.

Mike Glenn was born in Ennis, Tx to A.L. (Afton) and Sylvia Wood Glenn on 03/29/1947.  He was a lifelong resident of Alma and attended Ennis schools. After graduation from Ennis High School, Mike went to work for LTV for several years working on aircraft hydraulics, and then, because of his love for creating and building, he transitioned to carpentry and went to work for Stanley Zmolik building homes and working all facets of residential and commercial construction. There, Mike really honed his skills, becoming a true Master Craftsmen. Though he would often refer to himself as a "Jack of all Trades", for those who knew him, knew he was a "Master of all Trades" and it seemed there was nothing that he could not do.

Through the years, Mike worked for J & N Property Management as Maintenance Supervisor and as well on his own as a contractor/handyman. Known for his kindness, he was a friend and neighbor to all, always willing to lend a hand, day or night. Mike has also served his community well. He served as a volunteer firemen in the mid 80's and later at the Alma Community Center, where he served on the Board of Directors. Additionally, he was an active member of the Alma Cemetery Association, contributing several months of volunteer labor to remodel the Community Center a few years back. Mike began working for the City of Alma around 2019, taking on the important task of picking up litter along city roads. No piece of trash was too big or small for him; he tirelessly drove his Kawasaki, keeping the streets clean. He also assisted the city crew with road maintenance, always greeting passersby with a smile and a wave. Every year, Mike eagerly helped with the Alma Community Center's Chili Supper and participated in any other events organized by the City or Community Center, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the community he loved.

Mike also faithfully served his country by serving 6 years in the Texas Army National Guard, 49th Armor Division.

Mike Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles and cousins whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his sons, Trent Glenn of Alma, Shawn Glenn and wife Alicia of Alma, his brother Benny Glenn of Alma, his sister Linda Hammond and husband Larry of Powell Tx. Six grandchildren, Michael Glenn, Brandon Glenn, Austin Payment and wife Amber, Ashley Glenn, Colby Glenn and wife Jessey, Erin Smith and husband Korbin. Niece Susan Colburn and husband Steve, Kyle Glenn and wife Krisha, Kevin Glenn and wife Stephanie, along with all of their children whom he considered and loved like grandchildren. As well as many more cousins, family members and friends that he loved and would do anything for. Mike loved BIG!

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Mike Glenn, the family has requested any donations be sent to the Alma Cemetery Association in C/O the City of Alma . Mike worked hard to restore the Alma Cemetery which is located close to his home. Checks can be sent to or dropped off: City of Alma – 104 Interurban – Alma, TX 75119.

The family of Mike Glenn wishes to extend our utmost gratitude to friends, Jim Benton and Linda Blazek and other City of Alma employees, the Alma City Mayor (Renee Jones) and City Councilmen, Tabernacle Baptist Church, First Responders and the many friends and neighbors of Mike and the entire Glenn family.
